This is a relatively new winery (2004) established in the Barossa valley with over 100 acres of old vineyard lands. Interestingly the Maverick Australian winery is not only a ‘Maverick’ when compared with old world producers but also when compared with other wineries within Australia. With the philosophy and focus on natural sustainable methods, excruciatingly painful (for the pocketbook) ‘old vine’ yields and the use of, what most in the wine world would consider ‘old’ technology (basket presses, etc.), then you have a true Maverick producer - Hand crafted, elegant wines with great character.
