The Americans still dominate the Chardonnay/Cabernet business for good reasons. They continue to apply their confidence with everything else, especially Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Sparkling wine. The Monterey region is one of the most important in California not only for Chardonnay (for many years) but also Pinot Noir (more recently). The Morgan family winery has access to some of the best fruit in the area from both their own vineyards and their neighbours. A terrific local winery with a long string of great vintages, Morgan wines are hard to pass up.
