The Rhône valley is more like two distinct regions – north and south. In the north the main variety is Syrah. In the south the main variety is Grenache. Each area, as a result, produces quite different wines. The Caves St. Pierre Company is the Buachon family business with long ties to the region dating back a few generations. Their expertise is well known in the area and their wines are superb value – especially the Clef des Prelats Chateâuneuf-du-Pape.
