Heathcote Estate was established in 1999 as a boutique producer solely focused on Shiraz. The famous strip of land where Heathcote sits, in Victoria just north of Melbourne, is 600-million-year-old red Cambrian soil. The Cambrian soil features deep water-retention capabilities, crucial to an area with low or insufficient rainfall. This rare soil imparts uniquely identifiable characteristics – ripe, full-flavoured wines with deep, purple-black colour with hints of mint and spice to highlight the intense fruit.
